Team: Susanne Birker-Guillen
Susanne Birker-Guillen, a German native and citizen,
received her degree in Conference Interpreting (Dipl.
Dolm.) from the University of Heidelberg (Germany) in
1984 with English and French as a major and law as a
minor. While living in Germany, Susanne worked as a
free-lance interpreter for the Commission of the European
Community, the European Patents Office in Munich, the
Press and Information Office of the Federal Government,
various political parties and foundations as well as
many technical congresses.
| Since her move to
the United States in 1990 Susanne has successfully
completed interpreting assignments for the US
and Canadian State Departments, the German Bundestag,
various German embassies and consulates, a broad
variety of international technical conferences,
sports events like the Atlanta and Nagano Olympic
Games and the FIFA World Cup as well legal depositions
and even live interpretation for German television
on election night 2000.
For the past 14 years Susanne has also been a
full-time technical translator focusing on computer
technology, software localization, multimedia
projects, marketing and telecommunication - working
for many agencies all over the U.S. and also for
direct customers. |

Other experience includes work as voice talent
for promotional videos, linguistic director for
multimedia projects, trade show hospitality and
teaching English as a second language. Susanne's
objective is to provide high quality language
services as an independent contractor. She has
a reputation for accuracy and reliability as well
as on-time delivery.

She is a member of AIIC (Association International
des Interprètes de Conférence), TAALS
(The American Association of Language Specialists),
ATA (American Translators Association) and NCTA (Northern
California Translators Association)
